We are delighted to announce our next Salt Live event on January 28th.
Chasing Happiness: The Search for Lasting Contentment
The desire for happiness drives every decision we make, yet it often feels fleeting and unobtainable. Can true happiness really be found?
About the Event
The desire for happiness is self-evident. It’s driving every decision we make. And yet it often feels fleeting and unobtainable. We don’t really know what will bring us lasting satisfaction. More stuff? The perfect relationship? A sense of meaning and purpose? There’s a sense of restlessness in our city as Londoners are changing their jobs, their living arrangements and their relationships, looking to create the perfect set of circumstances that will bring about lasting contentment. But will they ever find it?
Join us for a thought-provoking evening as we unpack the sources of our present discontent and consider how to find true joy.
Our speaker for the evening, Andrew Haslam, leads a church called Grace London and regularly writes for Salt. He has two degrees in theology from London universities, is married to Sie Yan, a GP, and has three children. In twelve years of church leadership, he has engaged with many Londoners who are grappling with the question of how to be satisfied.
The evening will include a short talk and plenty of time for Q&A and discussion. Drinks and nibbles provided.
